In 2014 she completed her doctorate at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lleida using techniques of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, metabolomics and proteomics in an experimental model of a rare recessive disease. The thesis, entitled “Friedreich’s ataxia, study of the frataxin deficit in cardiac myocytes”, obtained the qualification of Excellent with cum laude mention.

Èlia Obis graduated in Biology with by the University of Barcelona.
She developed her project in the laboratory of Dr. Lenaz in the University of Bologna-Italy on the chain of electronic mitochondrial transport.

During her last year of doctorate she studied an Executive Master in Innovation by the EOI.
Professional activities
Nowadays he is teacher in Physiology in the Department of Experimental Medicine in the University of Lleida-Spain and he is Coordinator in the Degree of Human Nutrition and Dietetics as well as in the Master Degree in Biomedical Research.

Between 2009 and 2014 she worked under the direction of Dr. Joaquim Ros and Dr. Jordi Tamarit in the Department of Medical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Lleida using techniques of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, metabolomics and proteomics in a model of a rare disease.
Her thesis named “La ataxia de Friedreich, estudio del déficit de frataxina en miocitos cardíacos”, got an Eccellent Cum Laude mention.
